Mica flakes are de-laminated under the aqueous medium condition are stripped by
roller grinding and stripping to reduce the size about 150 micron and is processed in wood lined mills to prevent metal contamination, thereby ensuring a product of the highest purity. Finally it is micronised under the aqueous medium condition in a planetary wet grinding mill. The ground Mica Paste is passed through Centrifuge to remove water and dried in Spin Flash Drier to obtain required mesh size in uniform quality.
Wet ground mica has a gloss reflectance of 82% against 100% MgO and much greater aspect ratio than Dry Ground Mica Powder. finds great importance in the paints, Rubber, Plastic, Ceramic and cosmetics industries.
Mica Powder is manufactured from the purest mica, by a slow, frictional de-lamination product has a much whiter color and hence process. Hand picked mica scrap shorted manually to remove impurities and delaminated in specially
designed mill for higher aspect ratio.
It's flat, forming plate-like layers in the soil that are thin, translucent, flexible and soft, which from side to side has the appearance of pages in a book. Micatech has found out a unique way to ground the mica in such a way that this integrity of the particle surface is preserved. Its surface is kept free from scratches and defects so that the lamellar structure is not disturbed. The result is a shimmering, sparkling, luminescent powder.
Grounded mica has a variety of other uses too. Some of the more usual being, a lining for moulds (to ease the separation of the finished product, for example, rubber tyres, from a steel mould) as a filler in plastic materials and fire extinguishers. In Paints, the use of Mica provides excellent Exterior Durability & Weather Resistance and offers increased resistance to degradation by UV radiation. It also improves Corrosion resistance in Primers.
